After many years, I felt the need to return to an ancient technique one that requires time, care, and patient gestures: engobe. From this rediscovery, Engobe was born a line of ceramics entirely handmade and hand-decorated, where tradition and graphic design meet.
Engobe fascinates me because it allows me to play with the material in a way that is both spontaneous and carefully considered. Applying a thin layer of liquid clay to the raw piece, engraving it, letting the underlying color emerge—it’s an almost meditative process that brings me back to the essence of ceramics. With Engobe, I wanted to explore more illustrative forms and graphic marks, creating objects that tell stories through their surfaces.
Each piece is unique, born from a precise gesture but also from the unpredictability of earth and fire. Every engraving, every mark left by my hand is a fragment of this dialogue with the material.
